Scrapbook Paper Garland

One of the easiest things you can do to add a little "something" to a party, is make some scrapbook paper garland.

It is super easy and you can coordinate the colors/theme however you want!

1.  Start with your choice of scrapbook paper and some circle punches or a circle cutter.

2.  Punch your circles.
You can do varying sizes or make them all the same.

3.  Send your circles through your sewing machine.
(I can't find my picture of this, sorry.)
Now, you can sew them together randomly, by size, in a pattern, etc.  I have done it all different ways.  For this particular garland I made a pile of circles and fed them through my sewing machine however I grabbed them!

4.  Hang your garland.
Once again I have hung this garland in all kinds of places, but here is a little sneak peek of this particular garland's placement.

Now how easy is that?!

Note: When using patterned scrapbook paper the backside is more than likely going to be white.  When you hang this garland it might not lay perfectly and you will see the white side.  If this bothers you, glue another patterned circle to the back so you have the pattern on both sides.

Kitchen Table Ideas

I'm in need of some advice. Thoughts. Opinions.
Here is my kitchen table.
I've had it since my townhouse. I'm kind of sick of it. I really want a round, white pedestal table, but that's not happening right now. I figured I could give some life to my current table, but I'm indecisive.
What do you think?
Paint the chairs white and leave the table brown?
Maybe paint the chairs a different color? I'm loving this mustard yellow color.
Or maybe blue?
Paint the chairs all different colors?
What about painting the table itself white?
I want to hear what you think!

The Beginning of the Birthday Mantel

Back in November, I found and purchased this fabulous chalk art download over at Caravan Shoppe. I knew I wanted this to be part of the decor for Campbell's birthday.
I sent my file over to Office Depot where they blew up the print to 36 x 48 for a mere $5.00.
(Note: these files are made to be blown up this big)
I then had some foam board cut to the same size and simply attached my print with some double sided tape and spray adhesive.
One of the reasons I opted for the large print was because I wanted something to cover the TV. When I first put my print on the mantel it definitely covered the TV, but not on the sides. What's an anal retentive girl to do??
Make some fabric panels and hang them with a tension rod, of course!
So that's just what I did.
Problem Solved!
Don't worry...this is just the beginning.
I have plans for that black Pom trim! *smile*
