Campbell: 3 Months Old

This sweet love turned 3 months old today.

Well, technically today.  Some books/people say 12 weeks is officially 3 months (and I have to agree).

A few things about 3 months:

Feeding: Campbell is still eating every 3-4 hours.

Sleeping: Campbell still proves to be a great sleeper.  He usually sleeps at least 10 hours every night, sometimes more, but not usually less.  Sadly he still isn't in his crib.  I know we've got to make the switch, but his reflux is still pretty bad and in this house the master is on the main and the nursery is upstairs.  It makes things a little more scary for me.  Warner was simply across the hall at the old house.  This will be different, but I know he'll be fine in the long run.  As far as naps are concerned, Campbell has started taking this ridiculously long nap in the morning.  I'm talking 2 1/2-3 hrs.  Granted, some mornings he won't sleep this long, but more often than not, this is the norm.  Since he does sleep that long in the morning his afternoon naps are more like cat naps.  Warner was a HUGE cat napper at this age.  My pediatrician always said you can't really complain about that when they're sleeping so well at night.  I know he's right, but I can't wait until we get to the 2 naps a day.  It's coming, I know.

"Issues": REFLUX!  Ugh!  I have never seen a baby spit up as much as Campbell.  We go through a ton of outfits and burp cloths a day.  Sometimes I swear he spits up his entire bottle.  I call it the waterfall when he spits up like that.  He isn't in pain and appears to be gaining weight, so I know there really isn't much we can do.  They did increase his Zantac about a week ago and that seems to have honestly made things worse (I don't know if that is even possible).  We'll see what happens!

Fun Stuff:  Talking!  I cannot get over how much Campbell likes to "talk."  He will get into a serious back and forth with you cooing, smiling, and laughing.  It is the sweetest thing and I don't remember Warner talking this much this early.  Campbell has also become much more aware of his surroundings.  He is curious about everything and loves to look around.  You can tell he definitely recognizes familiar people and will greet them with his sweet grin.

Not Fun Stuff: Tummy Time!  He doesn't hate it as much as Warner did, but he doesn't really like it either.  If you prop him on the Boppy he does better than if you just lay him flat on his stomach.
Getting out of the bath - Wow!  The child is perfectly content taking a bath, but the minute you take him out he screams!  I think it's because he doesn't like to be cold and wet.  Can't really blame him...!!

We love our sweet boy more and more everyday.  We are still adjusting to life with 2 kids, but slowly we're getting back into a groove!

Kitchen Art

Have you seen this month's issue of Better Homes and Gardens? Well, if you have, did you notice this kitchen art? I noticed it immediately and thought it would be perfect for the bare wall in our kitchen.

Off I went to replicate!

I started by getting a piece of plywood cut to my liking. In this case I went with 27.5 x 39.5.
I then painted my board with a basic black paint.
While that was drying I went to the computer and found a font that I liked for my lettering. If you are super talented you can just free hand the words. I, unfortunately, am not super talented in that respect, so I made my own stencils.
With a pencil I simply traced my words onto my painted board.
Then painted them with white acrylic paint.
Finally, I hung it on the bare wall.
I must say...I kinda love it!
