25 Weeks

I think I filled out 2 of these during my pregnancy with Warner.  I thought it was time to do one with Campbell.

How far along? 25 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? 29 lbs. HOW RIDICULOUS!  I'm not going to lie.  I get HUGE when I'm pregnant.  But to have gained 29 lbs and only be 25 weeks is a bit ridiculous!  Of course I was much smaller this time around when I got pregnant, but that's no excuse.  I think I'm going to be gaining 70 lbs and birthing a 10 lb baby if this continues.  Hello, Jessica Simpson!!! UGH!  I was HUGE with Warner, but only gained a total of 30.  Of course I was bigger when I got pregnant with him.  You see this is why I'm not a fan of being pregnant...I have major weight issues regardless of if I'm pregnant or not...*sigh*

Maternity clothes? Absolutely.

Stretch marks? No new ones yet.  Of course I can see the ones from last time, but they are still faint at this point and haven't popped out yet.

Sleep? Sleep is still fine.

Best moment last week? getting to see Campbell again.  I had to get another ultrasound because he is breach and they were unable to get a few clear pictures during my 20 week scan.  Everything looks good and he's already over a pound!

Movement? I feel him a lot more than I felt Warner.  With Warner my placenta was in front (can't remember the medical name...) so it made movements a little more difficult to feel at times.

Food cravings? No cravings.  EVERYTHING tastes good.  Hmmm...wonder why I've gained so much weight??? ;)

Gender? another baby boy

Labor signs? No.  Thank goodness, because it's entirely too early!

Belly button in/out? In

What I miss: normal clothes, more than 1 diet coke a day :)

What I am looking forward to: hopefully getting a nursery ready here soon...fingers crossed!

Milestones: I guess being 1 cm dilated!

Christmas 2012

Christmas was a lot of fun this year.  Warner is at the age where he doesn't totally understand the concept of Santa, but can point him (and Rudolph) out in a second.  He is so excited about everything Christmas related: Watching The Polar Express, turning on the Christmas tree, making cookies, ornaments, etc.
He also loves presents this year. Everytime he opened a present he would say with such excitement, "Wow!  What is it, Mommy?"
Of course he didn't quite understand that every present wasn't for him.  Oh well.

Christmas Eve we went over to Sue Sue's where Warner was spoiled rotten (as usual).

My mom was actually the one who bought Warner's new kitchen for him, so after he went to bed we began working on assembling it.

3 hours later...

Christmas morning Santa left a few things for Warner, but his main focus (as we knew it would be) was "cooking" in his kitchen.

We spent most of Christmas day in our PJs playing.  After Warner woke up from his nap we headed over to my Dad's for more Christmas fun.

Finally, trying something new this year, we headed to Orangeburg after Christmas to do lunch with my Mom's sisters.

I hope you all had just as much Christmas cheer as we did this year!
Next year we will have 2 boys to celebrate with!

I haven't quite wrapped my mind around that yet...
Merry Christmas!

The Polar Express

Over the weekend we headed up to Bryson City, NC to take Warner for a ride on The Polar Express.

I wasn't sure how much of it Warner would actually "get", but being that he loves trains was enough for me!

It was a really fun experience and seeing the magic in the kids' eyes who were a little older was awesome!

I can't wait until Warner really understands the magic of Christmas.

“At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I've grown old, the bell still rings for me, as it does for all who truly believe.”

Nursery Wall Art

I have decided that I'm going to do a gallery wall of sorts over Campbell's crib.  I want to fill it with pictures, paintings, and words.  I love words.  Don't you?

When I saw this I was immediately in love.  "You are my Sunshine" and in French, nontheless.

*sigh*

Perfect.

"You are my Sunshine" is my thing.  Well our thing.  Dave and I both sang it to Warner.  Every night.  He had a print with these words (along with other things) hanging over his crib.  It's only fitting that Campbell have these words over his crib as well.

I considered just buying it.  Then I saw the price.  $37.00.

No thanks.

So with this idea in mind I set out to make my own version.

I started by cutting a piece of cardboard to back my newspaper wrapping paper on.

I got this from the dollar bin at Target this summer and used it to wrap up the foam that held Warner's mustache chocolate pops for his party.  If you missed out on this find then have no fear.  Regular newpaper would work just as well!

Next I cut my paper to the same size as the cardboard so I could adhere it with spray adhesive.

Now this part has many options.  If you are good at lettering and free handing you could just go with that.  If you had a thicker paper that you could run through your printer you could do that as well.  I am not good at free hand and this wrapping paper is super thin, so I decided to trace some chipboard letters on to my paper with a Sharpie.

Once I was finished with that I used basic black acrylic paint and filled it in.

I was going to stop here.  And you could.  But I decided at the last minute it needed something else.
Off to my magazines I went to find any orange or yellow backgrounds to make a sun.

I randomly placed the rays with little rhyme or reason and then glued everything down with a glue stick.

And there you have it.  My first piece of art for Campbell's gallery wall.
Don't worry, I plan on framing it.  Just haven't gotten to that part yet.

Actually, I lied.  I have 2 things for his gallery wall so far with a ton more ideas in my head!

Stay tuned!

THE name!

Luckily for Dave and I, baby names have been fairly easy.  We have agreed pretty much on all of them.

Coming up with another boy's name took a little bit of searching, but luckily the family names came through for us once again.

So, without further waiting....
Baby #2's name is...

Campbell Stephen DeMasters

Campbell - Dave's great grandmother's maiden name.  She was also his great grandfather, Warner's, wife.  I've heard a lot of girls with the name Campbell lately, but I love it for a boy.  A good, strong name.

Stephen - both my dad and my brother's first names; they were the first men in my life

And there you have it.

Our girl name is still on hold and will stay there until a. we have a girl (if we even attempt a 3rd) or b. get a girl dog!
