Hump Day Happiness

Little known fact: I took piano lessons for 6 years when I younger.
I wasn't a fan.  I hated practicing.  The perfectionist in me could never perfect the art of it and I think that's why I never loved it.
I hate that about me.  I hate that I gave up so many things when I was younger mostly due to fear of failure...piano, horse back riding...I never stuck with something long enough and for that I have regrets.
Anyway, enough of that!  Since I did take piano lessons and my mom had taken piano lessons when she was younger I was given an amazing gift when I was about 6 years very own piano!
Not a little toy piano or a keyboard, but a real, legit piano.
It sat in our living room for years.  When my Mom sold the house I grew up in she asked me if I wanted my piano...OF COURSE!  However, living in a townhouse there really isn't much room for furniture like that.  So, I had my dad house it as his house where it has been now for about 5 years.
Since we are beginning the house hunting process I am super exicted about the house decorating process that goes along with it.
One thing I know for sure.  I want my piano back in my house.
I love what I see people doing with pianos.  I'm excited about the endless possibilities!
What do you think?  What would you do with a piano in your decor?  Paint it or leave it as is?
Let me know your thoughts!

Hump Day Happiness

I love the idea of preserving your child's scribbles and that is just what Rachel over at Lines Across did.

How cute is this "Scribble Bow"?

I definitely see some of these showing up on Christmas presents this year...

Go check out her tutorial here!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

What's more fun that a trip to the pumpkin patch in the Fall?

Luckily for us, our town has a local farm that hosts a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, animals, the works!

We decided to take Warner after his nap and check it out!

You could say we had some good ol' "farm fun!"

The Fair

The fair. Once a year fun.
The food.  The rides.  The sights.  The fun.

Warner got to experience it all for the first time this year.

And I do believe he enjoyed it...

I think it's safe to say you had a good time when you reach the point of exhaustion.
In a 2 year old that equals tears.

Poor baby.  He tired himself out!
(and the attempt at a family photo failed because of it)

See you next year, State Fair!

From the Vault: A Dinosaur DIY Halloween Costume

With Halloween coming up in just a few weeks, I thought I'd share Warner's Halloween costume from last year with you again.  Easy and cute.  Just the way I like it!

I'm working on another easy and cute costume for this Halloween.  Stay tuned!

I wasn't sure how Warner would do with a Halloween costume. I was super excited to dress him up, but I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something he may or may not wear. So I set off to make something.

I started with a super cheap hoodie.  I think I found this one at Wal-Mart for like 4 bucks.

Then I started tracing diamonds onto felt and cut them out.  I used a stencil I already had, but you could really just free hand them depending on the size you want.

Next, I pinned the felt diamonds on the back of the hoodie.

I then sewed straight line right down the middle of the felt
to make the "spikes".

A little ric-rac was added inside the actual hood for some teeth.  At this point I was having some sewing machine issues, so I ended up just hot gluing the ric-rac.
Worked like a charm!

Finally, I sewed 2 big black buttons to either side of the hood for the eyes.

Add a cute kid and you have a cheap and easy Halloween costume!
I honestly made this for less than 10 dollars and I'm happy to report that Warner left the hood on the entire night!

Fun, Easy, Cheap, and Adorable!

Hump Day Happiness

I know this is an odd choice, but I've never been so excited to have antibiotics in my life!

Being pregnant and being sick is not a good combo.  You can't take anything that helps.  After trying 3 different over the counter approved meds, an entire bottle of saline spray in 1 night, and 3 sleepless nights in a row, I called the doctors office in pure depeseration.  Miserable doesn't even begin to describe how I was feeling.

Luckily for me they said I could take a Z Pack.  Although I'm not a fan of taking meds during pregnancy I know the doctor wouldn't prescribe something that was harmful.

Now that pesky sinus infection is on its way out and hopefully this will be the only time I get sick during this pregnancy!

Mood Boards

Don't you just love mood boards? I do! Pinterest is like one giant moodboard and I love it, however, I wanted to see if I could create something a little bit more tailored to my current obsession (Warner's big boy room)! I was able to do just that with Olio Board.  Even though I have decided to wait to actually decorate Warner's room how I want it until we move, I am enjoying getting all my plans put together in one place!  This will also come in handy when I get my ideas for the nursery!!

Go try it out and let me know what you think!
You can do a lot more, but this was a quick endeavor while trying to blog and entertain a 2 year old!!

Hump Day Happiness

The minute Warner turned 2 it seemed as if everything happened at once (mind you he only turned 2 a week and a half ago)!  He is talking up a storm, doing awesome with the potty, and climbing out of his crib...daily.  Nap times are becoming so frustrating with Warner escaping 3-4 times!  So sadly, and with some reluctance from Mom, it is time to begin the transition to a big boy bed.  Now mind you I said begin

While this doesn't really fall under something that makes me happy...

Looking at Pinterest at adorable little boy rooms does!
