A Fall Wreath

A made an easy Fall wreath a few weeks ago in hopes that maybe it would bring cooler temperatures with it.

But it's getting there...

To make this wreath you need the following:
brown paper bags, mini clothespins, twine, some sort of ribbon or pom pom trim, a grapevine wreath

I started off by attaching my pom pom trim to my wreath.
You could really use anything you wanted here; ribbon, twine, yarn, etc.

Next I made some pom pom flowers out of brown paper bags.  You follow the exact same directions as you would with the tissue paper pom poms.  I like Martha Stewart's tutorial.  You can find that here.  I will admit that using paper bags was a little more difficult and there were definitely some tears here and there, but it doesn't matter in the end!

Finally I simply attached my pom poms to the trim with mini clothespins.
I think these would look cute hanging on a mantle, but we all know I don't have one of those. (BOO!)

I chose to hang it to the front door with some burlap ribbon.

There you have it.  The first part in my Fall front porch.

Now, I just need to get on those pumpkins!

Hump Day Happiness

I LOVE Fall! I love everything about it. It is by far my favorite season (with Spring being a close second).

One thing I love about Fall...pumpkins!

Seeing these fun, colorful pumpkins makes me happy. Hopefully it will make you feel happy too!

Happy Hump Day!

Little Man Party: The Favors

In all of my excitement about Warner's party, I realized I forgot to post about the favors.
I guess it was because I made them over a month ago while watching the girl's Olympic gymnastic team bring home the gold medal! That was a late night...but better late than never!

What better favor for a Little Man Party that clip on bowties for the little men and clip on hair bows for the little ladies!! Using this tutorial from Momma Rake, I made this cuteness in no time!

And you know it's a successful party favor when you receive this picture and text from a friend:

Look who wore that cute bow tie to Sunday school?! He's obsessed with it!

Warner's Little Man Birthday

It seemed like months in the making (well, maybe because it really was...)  but we finally celebrated Warner turning 2 with his "Little Man" Party!

After the invitations were sent, the table decor made, and the food named, it was finally time to party!

Happy Birthday, Little Man!

Happy Birthday, Warner

Two years ago, God blessed us with the most precious gift.

He entrusted us to be your Mommy and Daddy.

We could not have asked for a better gift.

We also don't know how we will ever be able to thank Him.

To us, you are perfect.

We love you more than we could have ever imagined loving someone.

You make our family complete.

Happy 2nd Birthday, sweet, sweet baby boy!

We love you more with every passing day.
Thank you for being you.

Mommy and Daddy

Hump Day Happiness

I have a ton of shutters sitting on my back porch waiting to be used in a project.

This project makes me happy.

Maybe I've found the perfect use for all those shutters afterall...

A shutter wall.

Check it out over at Thistlewood Farms!

Little Man Party Food Label Holders

For Warner's Little Red Wagon Party I used tent cards to label the food with cutesy names.  This year I decided to go with food cards.  This holder is too perfect for a little man party!

Here is what you will need to make your own:
-old dress shirts
(I got mine from the thrift store for 25 cents)
-an iron

1. Get dress shirts in the color/pattern you want.

2. Cut off the cuff of the dress shirt.

3. Give the cuff a good "starching" and then iron it until it is as firm as you want it.

4. Button the cuffs to reveal either one button or two and place your food card inside.

And there you have it!  A perfect food card holder for any little man party!
